Compliance

Compliance

Cross-border logistics involves more than moving cargo. It also involves customs declarations and controls, trade documentation, certification and licensing, and the import and export requirements of different countries and regions.

We consider compliance requirements alongside transport planning, helping clients identify key issues that may affect transport and customs clearance. This helps reduce delays and additional costs arising from classification errors, inconsistent declaration information or documents, and unmet market access requirements.

Our Compliance Services

Tariff Classification & Customs Declaration Compliance

We help verify HS codes, product descriptions, required declaration details and cargo information to reduce risks arising from inaccurate classification or declarations.

Trade Documentation Review

We review key information across commercial invoices, packing lists, contracts, transport documents and relevant product certification and labelling records, including EAC conformity documents, state registration certificates (SGR) and Chestny ZNAK labelling records. We check the consistency of product descriptions, quantities, weights and values.

Market Access & Certification Requirements

Based on the cargo type and destination country, we help clients identify certification, licensing, labelling and other market access requirements that may apply.

Customs Declarations & Clearance

We coordinate export declarations in China with import customs clearance at destination, aligning transport plans with customs requirements.

Transport Compliance for Special Cargo

For goods subject to special transport or regulatory requirements, including chemicals, machinery, vehicles and parts, batteries and food products, we check the relevant transport and declaration requirements before accepting a shipment.

Support for Customs Inspections & Shipment Issues

If a shipment is selected for a customs inspection, requires additional documentation or encounters declaration issues, we help clients, customs brokers and transport providers verify information and coordinate the response.

Transport Capacity Is Only Part of the Picture

The ability to load cargo onto a truck or into a container, or to book transport capacity, does not by itself ensure a smooth cross-border shipment.

When accepting a shipment and designing its transport plan, GRAIL considers the following factors together:

Cargo Characteristics × HS Codes × Declaration Documents × Transport Mode × Port of Entry Requirements × Destination Market Access × Customs Clearance Conditions

We build transport plans around each shipment’s actual trade and compliance requirements, addressing potential issues before cargo reaches a port or border crossing.
